Funding for Catchment Christians

The good news is we’ve received some funding from The Sir Barry Jackson Trust and also from Arts Brolly. So this show is on the road. It’s great for it to definitely be going ahead. I’d like to be paying the actors more money but times are hard… Neither the director (me) nor the writer (Helen Kelly) are going to be earning money from this project. But it’s been a labour of love, so we have to see it through to production.

After this show we’ll be applying to the Arts Council to tour (hopefully with some lovely quotes and reviews) so we are hoping it will have a life beyond Birmingham/Bromsgrove and we’re very grateful to The Sir Barry Jackson trust for making this happen.

Cut Price Theatre

Well, we’ve had some bad news about one of our funding applications. We’ve been offered a fraction of the amount we asked for (two fifths to be precise). We’re now trying to work out what that means for Catchment Christians and frantically trying to secure the rest of the money from other sources… This appears to involve a lot of creative thinking…

Something exciting is happening in Birmingham THIS MONTH!

Capital is a brand new festival which brings together writers, actors and theatre-makers to celebrate and promote the work currently being developed in Birmingham and beyond. Held at The Old Joint Stock Theatre, the festival will include a series of rehearsed readings, a showcase of short plays and an opportunity for the public to contribute their reactions to Cameron

We’re very excited to have finalised our next show to be performed Spring 2011.
